Boyums of America is beginning it 4th year of continuous operation!

Since its initial launch on January 12, 1998, it has been visited by many cousins who have provided data about entire other branches of Boyum cousins, about Norway, and about ancestors much further back then our emigrant ancestors.   For a variety of reason, editing and additions to the site have been a little slow coming but after spending the past four months of organization and preparation, Boyums of America is ready to go through major expansion this year.  

All of this is only possible with the help of cousins and visitors, sharing their information.  To meet the goals outlined below, I need help of all the Boyum cousins.  Please participate.  Click on the leaf to the left to get more details about the goal.

• Add the content so graciously provided by the many cousins who visited the site
  • Add data on the Norway Ancestry back to the Losna Clan in Odensland in 1240
  • Add photo galleries
  • Add geographies sections
  • Add narrative data I've developed and provided by cousins
  • Add help sections to help everyone know how to best use the site
  • Add more related family sections and connecting to my personal data site
• More two-way communications and family connections
  • Adding links to cousin's websites.
  • Implementing a discussion board so cousins can communicate with all visitors not just me.
  • Fixing the user links so visitors can tell us about sites directly
  • Implementing the electronic newsletter and possibly a wider postal newsletter.
  • Meeting cousins when possible
• Identify the emigrant ancestor of all the Boyums in America
  • While the site is focused on Boyum descendants and ancestors of Ellend Boyum, many other Boyums visit the site.  I plan to start to identify the different non-related lines this year
  • I also want to identify a living descendent of each line willing to receive email from visitors looking for information about that family.
• Update the descendent tree two generations back; i.e. from Eirik Arneson Boyum, down  
  • Request known cousins to spread the word and develop an updated mailing list and email list of cousins -- asking them to update basic information about their family
